Message	I'm pretty sure he's thinking of it in a different way than reality. Most metals do not retain heat very well, but they do 'transfer' heat more efficiently than silicon might. This is not really a bad thing, since under normal conditions the silicon will also get hot eventually which will still heat the air coming through the tube.
